Chicago Children's Advocacy Center and our partners are the front-line responders to reports of child sexual abuse in Chicago. We are the only non-profit in the city that coordinates the work of child protection and law enforcement professionals, family advocates, and mental health clinicians under one roof. Our programs work collaboratively, reducing trauma, removing barriers, and ensuring that the children and families we serve receive the essential services they need in one place—helping them restore hope and begin their healing journey.

1. Supporting Families – Each year, ChicagoCAC serves over 32,000 children and families across all of our programs, from education & prevention to incident response to long-term support.
2. No Cost for Care – All clients receive services at no cost to them.
3. Responding to Crisis – ChicagoCAC responds to an average 2,000 reports of child sexual abuse, physical abuse, witness to violence, human trafficking, and domestic violence.
4. A Legacy of Care – Since its opening in 2001, over 52,000 children have received life-changing advocacy services from ChicagoCAC.
5. Seeking Justice – As the only children’s advocacy center in Chicago, staff complete over 1,500 specialized forensic interviews a year.
6. Healing Through Therapy – Children receive more than 7,000 hours of therapy a year to help in their recovery from the trauma of abuse.
7. Advocating for Children – Over 1,600 children share their stories with staff, child protection, and law enforcement partners in order to be heard and find safety.
8. Empowering Communities – Through education, outreach, and prevention efforts, nearly 30,000 adults and children each year gain tools for understanding consent and recognizing signs of abuse.
9. Expanding Support for Survivors – Chicago’s first Family Justice Center, CAN Hope, offers services to adult survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.
10. Providing Access to Care – By offering transportation, more than 1,000 children and caregivers are able to get to and from appointments at the center at no cost.
