Step inside the lush, private backyard garden and kitchen of chef Rick Bayless for a dreamy evening filled with flowing margaritas, truly spectacular wine, and, of course, lovingly prepared Mexican food. 

The world-renowned Bayless Gardens, nestled in the heart of Chicago’s Bucktown neighborhood, is the main production garden for Chef Bayless’s award-winning Chicago restaurants. There, lush salad greens, gorgeous edible flowers, hundreds of pounds of flavorful herbs, and bountiful butternut squash are grown for the plates of the award-winning Frontera Grill, Topolobampo, Xoco, and Bar Sótano — as well as for your private tasting menu dinner for this one unforgettable evening! 

Eight guests will have the exclusive experience of touring this dreamlike urban oasis with Chef Bayless serving as their host and private guide. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions and converse with Chef Bayless about this pioneering innovation in the local food movement and storied history as a multiple-time James Beard award winner, Top Chef Master, and decorated expert of Mexican cuisine. 

Finally, you won’t leave Chef Bayless’s home hungry – you and your guests will feast on an exclusively prepared multi-course tasting menu, carefully paired with delectable wines from Chef Bayless’s private collection. This is one meal you will never forget! 

 

Restrictions: Date to be mutually agreed upon with the winner: Wednesdays and Thursdays only. Outdoor dinners must be held between the months of June and August 2026. Indoor dinners are also available.
