Widely recognized as one of the top chefs in the Twin Cities, JD Fratzke is an award-winning hospitality professional, poet, essayist and outdoorsman plying his trades in the Minneapolis- St Paul dining scene for over three decades.
Having opened over a dozen restaurants in his career, JD is most remembered for the decade he spent helming the kitchen at The Strip Club Meat and Fish on Saint Paul’s East Side as well as stints on the leadership teams of Chino Latino, Bar Brigade and Falls Landing. He currently serves as Corporate Chef for Daly and DeRoma Foodservice Group in Plymouth, MN.
JD’s writing has appeared in several local publications, cookbooks and anthologies and in 2020, he appeared as a judge and mentor on Season Sixteen of the BravoTV reality series Top Chef.
Chef JD Fratzke will create and prepare a five-course, in home dinner for six people with a menu tailored to the host’s preferences. However – the night will be more than a meal: JD will pair the dinner with a music playlist selected to accompany the flavors of the meal. There will be storytelling and cocktails (not necessarily in that order) and the guests may or may not leave with some of JD’s original poetry and artwork in their doggy bags.
Please keep in mind that the timing of this dinner will include some blackout dates. The owner of the winning bid will be required to reserve the date and location of the dinner by July 1, 2024. Food and wine to complement the meal is provided.
