Who We Are
At Bluebirds & Blooms, our ultimate goal is to share a moment of joy with those living with memory loss or long-term illness. We do this through the gift of repurposed flowers.
Every day, millions of beautiful flowers are discarded from stores, events, weddings, and funerals. We repurpose these donated flowers into cheerful bedside bouquets that are delivered by caring volunteers for an unexpected moment of hope and encouragement.
What We Do
Bluebirds & Blooms brings joy, beauty, and meaningful human connection to older adults living in care communities across the Twin Cities metro area. Through flowers and personal interaction, we reach more than 3,000 residents each month in 76 care communities across 26 cities.
Since our founding, we have created over 150,000 moments of connection through a mix of personal flower deliveries, hands-on DIY bouquet experiences, and guided floral programs that encourage creativity, engagement, and community.
Monthly Bedside Bouquets
Flower arrangements are personally delivered to care communities by Bluebirds & Blooms volunteers with conversation and a smile to bring nature, human connection and joy to residents. Annually, around 35,000 bedside bouquets are delivered to residents, and 150,000 since the beginning of Bluebirds.
Connections in Bloom
Our signature program brings guided flower arranging sessions into care communities. Designed to foster creativity, engagement and joy, Connections in Bloom provides deeper, hands-on experiences that reduce loneliness and enhance well-being. After a successful pilot, this program is now offered monthly and is a primary area for growth in 2026.

Our one-of-a-kind, joy-infused private events are designed to foster connection and inspire creativity for your group or employees. Our goal is to facilitate meaningful engagement among your group or team, and the opportunity to share joy with community members in need.
