CASA of DuPage County advocates for children who are abused and neglected by recruiting, training, and supporting volunteer advocates to represent each child's best interests in the court and the community. Our vision is every child deserves a safe, permanent, and nurturing home.
Last year, we served 413 children who were victims of abuse and neglect. These children have experienced trauma and violence, often living in a household with mental illness and substance abuse. CASA volunteer advocates spend time with each child, get to know them, to understand and advocate for their best interest. They meet with important people in the child's life including natural and foster parents, grandparents and extended family members, teachers, and healthcare professionals. The volunteer advocates visits each child regularly, becoming a trusted, stable adult in their lives for the duration of the case.
