At Simmons Cancer Institute at SIU Medicine (SCI), our
mission is urgent: accelerate research, advance treatment,
and bring hope to patients who cannot afford to wait. Your
support helps make that possible.

We are asking you to join us as a sponsor of the
17th Annual Women’s Power Lunch at the President
Abraham Lincoln Hotel. Our featured speaker, Heather Land,
a bestselling author, comedian, and storyteller, brings a
powerful message of resilience that reflects the strength
our patients show every day.

Funds raised at this event are an
immediate investment in local cancer research. Community
support jump-starts innovative projects, strengthens our
ability to compete for major national grants, and ensures
that breakthroughs continue to happen right here in central
Illinois.

In 2025, SCI launched two donor-supported research
projects. The first is studying immune differences between
men and women to help predict chemotherapy-related
cognitive side effects and the second is examining how
pancreatic tumors evade the immune system to improve
treatment response.
