Event Information

Since 2015, the Evanston Lighthouse Rotary Club has presented Taste of Evanston as a way to address pressing needs in our city and abroad.

At Taste, live music welcomes hundreds of guests to a sunlit lakeside lawn where they sample and sip from more than 40 top restaurants, breweries and wine bars. A silent auction and a raffle for exciting prizes build suspense. And people from all over Chicago and the North Shore reconnect with old friends and make new ones. The event celebrates “Great Food for a Great Cause.” That cause? Doing good in our city and abroad.

Examples of the many local projects supported by Taste of Evanston include:

• Making grants to non-profits concerned with housing affordability and homelessness
• Improving reading skills in adults and children
• Supporting our Latino community
• Giving local children a chance to attend Camp Echo

Our international projects include:

• Helping Rotary International and its partners eradicate polio
• Rescuing trafficked children in Ghana
• Improving maternal health care in Uganda
• Supporting an audiology clinic in the Dominican Republic,  and more
